Welcome! My name is Carina, and I am a health and alpine mountain enthusiast committed to empowering communities to respond effectively to both natural and manmade crises.
As a certified American Red Cross Instructor, I provide training in Basic Life Support and Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED. Empowered Response serves individuals, groups, and workplaces throughout much of Western Oregon and Southern Washington.
Our goal is simple: help you develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take action when someone needs help.

Founder & Certified American Red Cross Instructor
Carina's passion for emergency preparedness has been shaped by years of education, research, and global volunteer work. She pursued a Master's Degree in Public Health and trained as an Emergency Medical Technician to better understand how communities can prepare for and respond to emergencies.
After unexpectedly losing her father to cardiac arrest in January 2026, her mission became deeply personal. She founded Empowered Response to help everyday people feel capable—not powerless—when a life-threatening emergency occurs.
Through CPR, AED, and First Aid education, Carina helps individuals build skills that may one day save a life.
